Ecosystem Map

Description of all key figures and properties of the acting environmental factors.

What is it about?

The Ecosystem Map is a service design tool that captures all parameters and influencing factors in the environment of a service system. In contrast to classic strategy tools of environment analysis (e.g. PEST analysis), these are viewed from a specific perspective and not from the perspective of one's own company.

The elements are illustrated by their value contribution. Relationships are worked out by connecting the nodes and different distances. In this way, weaknesses in relation to certain interaction points can be revealed and innovation strategies can be derived. Once the relationships are visualised, the differences in the dimensions of space, time and context can also be mapped for different market segments and regions.

Note

When presenting synergies and possible weaknesses in the ecosystem map, stereotypical descriptions should be avoided, as with the persona definition.
